Bike GP 1989 - Germany Duke Archive DVD The 500cc teams were back on duty for the German GP at Hockenheim in round 6 of the 1989 World Championship. Wayne Rainey (Yamaha) was again in top form, Eddie Lawson (Honda) was getting more acquainted with his new mount and Kevin Schwantz (Suzuki) was the fastest man in practice. With Mick Doohan (Honda) and Christian Sarron (Yamaha) too, the German GP looked like being a real cracker. The 250 race saw Roth, Bradl, Shimizu, Pons Cornu and Cardus slipstream and outbrake each other for the duration of the race. And the sidecar crews were back in action too. Steve Webster and Tony Hewitt were set to improve their series lead gained in the season opener in America.
