The 250 event saw a display of brilliant riding by John Kocinski (Yamaha), Reinhold Roth (Honda), Wilco Zeelenburg (Honda NSR250) and other quarter-litre stars. The sidecars provided what many thought to be the best show of the day. The classic battle between Alain Michel (France)/Simon Birchall and Steve Webster/Gavin Simmons will linger in many a memory for a long time.
