Motocross 500 GP 1990 - France Duke Archive DVD Another outstanding World Championship Motocross event, the French GP, took place before 30,000 coughing fans at Brou, where the action was as thick as the choking dust. All eyes were on Dave Thorpe whose performances in the previous round had not met the expectations of his vast following. The world Champion certainly appeared to be on top form despite the swirling dust and the stiff competition which included British Champ Kurt Nicoll (KTM), American Billy Liles (Kawasaki), deadly rival Eric Geboers (Honda) and the freckle faced-flier from the Antipodes, Jeff Leisk. Controversey surrounded the first race as hole-shot man Geboers was accused of having received a signal from one of his mechanics as the gate was about to drop; but there was no doubting the integrity or the power of the Honda HRC piloted so skilfully by the stocky Belgian. A magnificent elbow-to-elbow 3 lap battle between the Kawasaki of triple world King Thorpe and the Honda of the aggressive Aussie Liesk, represents just one of the many thrilling sequences feature in this great video.
