Off Road Superstars DVD Starring David Thorpe, Martin Lampkin, Eric Geboers, Terry Good, Yrjo Vesterinen, Graham Noyce, Neil Hudson and many more To become a superstar in off road racing you need skill, courage and determination ? as well as more than a little luck! This action-packed collection of dirtbike films, including some real archive gems, shows the sport?s real stars doing what they did best. First up we celebrate the incredible style and skill of multiple motocross World Champion Eric Geboers as he dominates the 16th running of the legendary French beach race Le Touquet. The 1990 event saw the Belgian claim his third win in a row, and this comprehensive programme shows all the highlights as Geboers defeats fellow superstars like Patrick Boniface, Stephane Peterhansel and Trampas Parker. Hundreds of riders took on the gruelling three hours of racing through the French sands, tackling massive dunes, pouring rain and pure exhaustion, and it makes for compelling viewing ? not least for the extraordinary performance by Geboers. Next we see some of the finest British motocross riders of their generation in a thrilling, action-packed mud-fest from 1981. Motocross Masters charts the title-deciding sixth round of the British Motocross Championship, featuring interviews with the leading riders and truly amazing riding in the quagmire conditions. Among the stars are David Thorpe, Geoff Mayes, Neil Hudson and Graham Noyce, whose mastery of the treacherous mud shows just why he was a championship-winner. We move on to three wheels for our next film, The Chairman. This classic black-and-white film from 1980 takes us to two rounds of the World Sidecar Cross Championship ? the Dutch and British events ? and lets us see some truly amazing action as British heroes Terry Good and Barry Williams battle for championship honours ? if you think two-wheel motocross is thrilling, you must see it on three wheels! That is followed by Trials and Tribulations, a short, but very interesting montage of colour and black and white footage set to music showing just how tough off road racing can be. Finally, Trials Superstars marks the emergence of dirtbike riders as superstars with a remarkable, and controversial, meeting held in Yorkshire in 1976. The top trials riders were invited to attend the Superstars Trial, an event designed to recognise the racers of the day. Wonderful black-and-white film, with commentary from Stuart Hall, charts the whole meeting as we watch greats like Martin Lampkin, Malcolm Rathmell, Yrjo Vesterinen, Jean Marie Lejeune, Thore Evertson, Charles Coutard and more take on some of the toughest sections ever seen ? true Off Road Superstars indeed.
